Snart kommer jag se om säsong 4, boxen släpps på R2 i oktober. Need to save cash, lots and lots of cash. Och kanske inte köpa den direkt när den kommit ut.

I'm less glued to the night's other shows, though I've become a late convert to the irreverent whimsy of Stargate SG-1, which benefits in its ninth season from the appealing additions of Beau Bridges and, from the still-lamented Farscape, Ben Browder and (in a recurring role) Claudia Black. The first episodes have fun with Arthurian legend, but don't ask me to explain this show's convoluted mythology.
Question Asked:
I must hand it to Sci Fi; it looks like they got something very right. In a single move they have placated the Farscape contingent and reenergized Stargate SG-1. It appears that Ben Browder hasn't just joined the show, but now is the show. And I, for one, could not be happier — especially with all the inside jokes between him and Claudia Black (e.g. the pregnancy wink). The more they make SG-1 like Farscape while keeping the existing mythology and atmosphere, the better and more interesting the show will be, I think. But any way you look at it, it looks pretty freakin' smart.
Question Asked By: Phillip
Answer:
Well, it certainly got me and a handful of other critics I know into the tent. I don't pretend to understand everything that goes on in the Stargate franchise, but all I ask is to be entertained, and bringing Ben Browder aboard surely helps. I ran into Browder recently at a lunch during the still-ongoing TCA press tour. He seems to be having a great time, and he was thrilled to be reunited with Claudia Black and was gushing about the humor she was able to display in this new role. Given the solid numbers for Sci Fi's Friday lineup, I agree that this reinvigoration of Stargate was a good move. All in all, it's a solid night, with Battlestar Galactica still the standout in my book.

- You shoudln't have made me into an enemy. And you -- shouldn't have pointed a weapon at me.
- Damn! I've got to stop pointing guns at people.
John: "You ever heard of KFC?"
Akkor: "KFC?"
John: "It is to my knowledge, unique in the Universe and unique is always valuable. Now, we have managed to procure the eleven secret ingredients..."
Crichton: I don't want to be like other people. I don't want to be like you. I don't want to stoop that low. Kirk wouldn't stoop that low.
---: That was a television show, John. And he made Price-line commercials. But if you insist, then look to Kirk the way he really was, savage when he had to be.
