The 50 Most Tragic Moments in Buffy

Many scenes from our favourite show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, have touched us all, and we've formed our own list of Top 50 moments. Let's begin with positions 50-41 ...

50. 7.09 Never Leave Me
Spike ends up chained in the basement, and Buff goes to him to explain their theory. He doesn't care, and tries to scare her into killing him. It doesn't work, Buffy honestly believes he can find redemption, and she won't let him throw that chance away.

49. 7.12 Potential
Dawn's feeling alone and dejected, but Xander comes to the rescue. He knows how she feels, since he's been in the same boat for years. Through his understanding and kindness, he makes Dawn realize that even though she's not a Chosen, she's still special.

48. 6.09 Smashed
The brawl continues between Spike and Buffy at a condemned house, the Slayer and the Vampire are knocking the structure, as well as each other, all over the place. Suddenly, Buffy pins Spike against a wall and begins kissing him. As they engage in their most passionate make out session to date, the house crumbles all around them and they fall through the floor.

47. 5.19 Tough Love
Glory steals Taras mind and willow wants revenge. Although she promises Buffy not to attack Glory, she uses dark magic to damage the goddess. But Willow isn’t strong enough to defeat Glory and so she has to hope that Buffy would help her.

46. 7.05 Selfless
When Anya asks D’Hoffryn to make her human again, Halfrek pays this with her life. Anya goes home but Xander catches her up. He makes her clear, that it doesn’t matter what happened between them and that he would always be there for her.

45. 4.20 The Yoko-Factor
As the Scoobies try to figure out how to face Adam, everyone's insecurities and suspicions about the rest of the group begin to surface. Buffy storms out of the room claiming that she doesn't need her friends anymore.

44. 5.19 Intervention
After the death of Buffy’s mother, the Slayer thinks that she is losing her ability to love. So she drives with Giles to the desert, where they perform a ritual. The ghost of the first slayer appears and explains Buffy, that death is her gift.

43. 3.22 Graduation Day, Part Two
Angel drinks Buffy and after his healing he takes her to the hospital. Faith is also there and suddenly the Slayers meet each other in their dreams. Their talk is very confusing and when Faith tells Buffy to be ready, she wakes up and feels better.

42. 4.06 Wild At Heart
Oz sleeps with the werewolf Veruca and when she attacks Willow, he kills Veruca. He understands that he can't fight the wolf inside and that he has to leave Sunnydale. As Oz drives away, the witch cries and feels very sad.

41. 3.20 The Prom
Angel doesn't see a future for his relationship with Buffy and so he brakes up with her. The Slayer rescues the pupils from some hellhounds and finally she decides to go alone to the prom. She is very surprised, when she gets an umbrelle for saving lifes. Then Angel arrives and asks Buffy for a last dance.

Ds.

fortsättningen då:

40. Becoming, Part Two
Giles has been taken to the vampire's mansion hideout, where Angel hopes to force the necessary info concerning the ritual out of the Watcher. Drusilla tricks Giles by making herself look and sound like Jenny Calendar in his eyes. Giles says that Angel's blood is the key to the awakening ritual.

39. 6.08 Tabula Rasa
Tara gives Willow an ultimatum: She can't use magic for a week, or Tara will leave her. So willow casts a spell with a crystal and a Lethe's Bramble to make Buffy forget about being in a heavenly dimension and Tara forget about the fight. The spell doesn't work and the Scoobs all wake up with amnesia. After a while, Xander crushes the crystal and the spell is broken. As reality comes back into focus, Tara starts crying, knowing that everything was caused by one of Willow's spells. Tara packs her bags and leaves Willow.

38. 7.19 Dirty Girls
When the group arrives at the vineyard, Buffy splits them in two sets, one to go in with her and Faith, the other to hold their ground with Xander. Inside, a huge fight with the Bringers ensues. The girls are holding their own until Caleb emerges to confront Buffy. He pretends to recognize her power, then hauls off and belts her across the room. Quickly, the fight turns even uglier when Caleb kills one girl, and the rest of them get pummeled, even after Xander brings in reinforcements. As they are retreating, Caleb brutally gouges Xander's eye, much to everyone's horror.

37. 5.10 Into The Woods
Riley had already given Buffy an ultimatum. Tell him to stay or he'll rejoin the GI fellas in a super covert operation in Central Africa. Xander tells Buffy what she is going to lose. Realizing she made a mistake, Buffy sprints to stop her man and misses him fly away into the night.

36. 7.07 Conversations With Dead People
Dawn calls out for her mother, but something seems to be preventing Joyce from speaking. Dawn sees flashes of her mother in the pose she died in, but something menacing is hovering over her. Finally, she begins a spell to cast out the evil. It fights back, but ultimately she defeats it. Joyce materializes in a bright light, but delivers some disturbing news.

35. 4.15 This Year’s Girl
In a sundrenched dream, Buffy visits the comatose Faith through some sort of telepathic connection she shares with her fellow slayer. She dreams of a pleasant picnic with her deceased father figure, Mayor Wilkins III. The serenity is disrupted when Buffy appears and murders the Mayor with the same knife she stabbed Faith with. Faith sees Buffy chasing her through a rain drenched cemetery. When she falls into an open grave, Buffy jumps in after her. After an unseen battle, Faith alone emerges from the six foot hole. Back in reality, her eyes explode open as she awakens from her coma

34. 2.19 I Only Have Eyes For You
In the Sunnydale High, Buffy meets Angel, who has come to finish things off. However, James spirit possesses Buffy, and she begins to act out the scenario. Confused for a moment, Angel approaches and is suddenly possessed by Grace's spirit. It all plays out the same way, only this time, Grace (in Angel's body) gets up after being shot and falling onto the steps below. In the band room, James (in Buffy's body) prepares to shoot himself, when Grace stops him. She forgives him, and they share one last kiss before their souls finally cross over, leaving Buffy and Angel in an embrace, kissing like they once did in the past. When Angel realizes what he is doing, he pushes her off and escapes.

33. 7.04 Help
Xander and Willow stroll in the sun, catching up, and Willow is still insecure over her ability to control her powers. She knows the Big Bad everyone's going on about is coming, but she wonders if she'll be able to help. It becomes clear that they are in a cemetery, and Willow makes her first visit to Tara's grave. She lays stones atop the headstone, then kneels and traces Tara's name tenderly.

32. 3.14 Bad Girls
Buffy and Faith head to the warehouse to take out Balthazar and his minions. On the way, they encounter several vampires and dust them, one by one. When a hand reaches out and grabs Buffy, Faith throws the guy against a dumpster and drives her stake towards his heart. Buffy realizes that this is no vampire, but it's too late as Faith's stake plunges into the heart of Deputy Mayor Allan Finch. Within seconds, Finch is dead.

31. 7.19 Empty Places
Buffy announces that she has a plan: they have to return to the vineyard and defeat Caleb. She believes he must be hiding something powerful there, since he's not coming to the Hellmouth or guarding the Seal. Every person in the room balks at the idea, each saying they won't go to the vineyard without more proof. They all share Anya's opinion that Buffy is blinded by her desire to defeat Caleb, and she can't see reason. The girls demand a democracy, and they want Faith to be in charge. Buffy refuses to believe that after seven years her friends and family can no longer trust her, and she won't stay and watch Faith lead them to their deaths. Dawn finally stands up and kisses her goodbye.

http://www.slayerverse.de/tanet/net_buf ... hp&id=8348

30. 2.17 Passion
Giles and Buffy stand over Jenny's grave. Buffy has finally realized that she is ready to finish Angel. In the computer classroom, Willow takes over as substitute teacher until the new teacher can arrive.

29. 5.19 Tough Love
Tara and Willow, upset about the other not trusting them, decide not to go to a fair together. Instead, Tara goes alone. Glory greets Tara there. Upon a taste of Tara's blood, Glory knows she's not the Key. When Tara refuses to tell Glory who the Key is, Glory brain-sucks her, leaving her crazy.

28. 1.12 Prophecy Girl
Giles and Ms. Calendar discuss a prophecy: the earthquake, along with several strange occurrences in Sunnydale, seem to confirm that the apocalypse is near. Buffy overhears Giles telling Angel, "Tomorrow she'll face the Master and she will die." Buffy freaks out and tells Giles she wants to quit.

27. 7.07 Conversations With Dead People
Willow's having some weirdness of her own at the library when she's confronted with the specter of Cassie Newton. Cassie says she's in contact with Tara and suggests that Tara cannot be there herself because of Willow's destructive behavior following her death. Foreseeing Willow's path, Cassie warns Willow never to use magic again. Willow assures her black magic is off her list, but Cassie insists that any magic will only lead to kill everybody. Horrified by Cassie's revelation, Willow begs for a solution. Cassie says if she can't stop using magic, another choice remains: eternal rest. Willow becomes suspicious, especially when Cassie adds that she'll get to be with Tara again in the afterlife, and her friends will all be safe.

26. 7.07 Conversations With Dead People
Dawn calls out for her mother, but something seems to be preventing Joyce from speaking. Dawn sees flashes of her mother in the pose she died in, but something menacing is hovering over her. Finally, she begins a spell to cast out the evil. It fights back, but ultimately she defeats it. Joyce materializes in a bright light, but delivers some disturbing news.

25. 7.13 The Killer In Me
Amy placed a hex on Willow that allowed her to choose her own punishment. Kennedy is not about to let that happen, but Amy snaps her fingers and sends her to the Summers backyard just as Willow comes roaring in, gun in hand. It's a reenactment of the day Tara was killed, only this time, Willow's the would-be shooter. She raves at Kennedy, who's confused by Willow's ramblings. Turns out Willow isn't feeling guilty for killing Warren, but for forgetting, even for a moment, Tara. It's killing her to let go of her dead lover, but Kennedy realizes the spell can be broken, just like in fairytales, with a kiss.

24. 2.17 Passion
As the phone rings at Buffy's house, Angel watches from outside, through the windows. He watches Buffy's face as she gives the phone, then slowly collapses against the wall behind her. Willow immediately bursts into tears, and Joyce runs in to console her.

23. 5.17 Forever
We see the grave side service. Eventually everyone leaves, the last ones being Tara, Willow, and Dawn. Buffy remains standing at the grave. The camera focuses on her and she seems to age as night falls.

22. 2.17 Passion
When Giles gets home, he hears opera music playing and finds a rose on his door. He enters and finds chilled wine, glasses, and a note that simply reads "Upstairs". He follows a path of roses up the staircase, but what he finds is everything but romantic. Jenny's dead body lies in his bed, and Giles drops the glasses and wine to the floor.

21. 4.19 New Moon Rising
Oz tries to sort things out with Willow in his van. The only thing that can make him upset enough to turn into a werewolf is her. Since Willow is happy with Tara, he knows that the best thing for both of them is if he takes off again. They share a tearful embrace and Willow leaves.
